Spring madness has sprung on the RawTn household! These are the before photos...
The room by room saga has begun.
I'm de-cluttering and brightening up this cave! I've chosen this bathroom to begin in because it's the smallest room, and the most public restroom in the house. Easiest to clean and I'm gonna get the most results for time invested on this extremely looooong Friday...
Goals: Immediate--> Decorative bulbs w/more wattage & a white/ lighter shade for the window/ fuzzy white carpet washed & back down for fuzziness.
Goals: Considering--> Painting white: a) walls b) cabinet c) ceiling
--> Installing a showerhead (and the breaker for the jets)
--> Curved shower rod/ neutral shower curtain
Please let me know what your ideas are! It needs to be easy to keep clean, and eco friendly if at all possible. I'm kinda looking for a spa feel. We hope to do this in the next week & then move on to the next room...

Good work! I must admit I'm partial to white--paint it all white!! :)
Haha! We just discussed painting the main/guest bathroom earlier today! I like yours just the way it is, but I suppose if you had to change it, yes, a lighter color.
For a bathroom light/off white washable mildew resistant variety is best.
In ours the plan is to paint off white in satin finish. Replace the old large bulky sink and toilet with smaller, easy to clean ones.
When I saw your wood bathroom walls I thought, you know that's just the kind of walls RawTN would have- she's a nature girl!! I'm not good at decorating tips so whatever's in your heart I say, Go Girl!
Ooh! I'm catching up on blogs and this is a fun entry! I LOVE decorating homes!
If you want a spa feeling, I say go for all white, with plush white towels, as well. Essential oils would be a nice touch to add to the spa feeling, as well. Ooh! And a cd player that's out of the way, so you can continually loop some spa-type music. :-)
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it!
Lots of love to you, JoAnna!
XOXOXOXO
Hey there. Wow, that's a lovely bathroom. I'm torn. Natural wood is so lovely, but I do think painting the walls white would give you instant spa feel. If you're not sure about white then try a light, cool beige colour. Add some light green trim or accessories and lots of plants (ferns are great in the bathroom - try them in hanging baskets from the ceiling) and the fluffy white towels others have mentioned is also essential. I'd bring natural fibres/fabric/items in. For instance, I have a huge, beautiful conch shell full of shells I've found over the years, but you could use it as a soapdish. You could add smooth white pebbles - I've seen them used around the base of the bath. Use seagrass/rattan baskets to keep towels in/tidy things away. How about a light cotton curtain at the window, you could trim it or tie it back with a silk orchid garland for a glam spa touch. Wow. That's enough from me, I could do this all day!
Whatever you choose I hope you have fun doing it!
Once you get the spa feel, how do you stop the knocks on the door..."Mommmm..!!" You're always so creative Ms. RawTN. I just want to see the end results.
